Batson blanks for Silvers?

Postby Mike Oleson » Sat Sep 23, 2017 9:22 pm

Considering building some 2 piece rods for stream fishing Pixies and Mepps spinners for Silver salmon in AK.
Common size fish 8-10#
Need a little tougher blank than the graphite blanks we have been using...but don't want a rod that is heavy to hold...considering the RX4 --- BP 1024F or 1144F
Anyone have experience with these, or steer me to another option?
Your comments/experience appreciated.

BP's are sweet, maybe a bit more moderate action than what you want for hardware. IST or ISA would be my choice. I have both and use both. The BP is a go to downrigger rod and the IST for spinners on the river. Give Batson's a call, Karry or Jeff are both offer a wealth of info to help with your choice.
