Marbling SAP

Postby Chester Kiekhafer » Mon Sep 18, 2017 4:30 pm

Okay, this board is reaaalllllly dead so here is my question for those that might be lurking around.

I have some Marbling SAP that is pretty old, like two years and some maybe a little longer than that. Is there a shelf-life on this stuff in the open or sealed jars? I have some that have been opened and it is pretty hard and another that is softer but not like when it was fresh. Is there anyway to bring this stuff back to usable condition? I don't really want to open the sealed jars yet if the "opened" jar can still be saved.

Looking for opinions and suggestion.

Thanks

Chester

Can't answer that one. You could contact Voodoo Rods, pretty sure they carry a same or similar product called Marbling Mud.

It's also that time of year when you want to seal up your house and get ready for cold winter winds - maybe you could use it to fill in any cracks around the house.

Thanks for the comment Becky.

I didn't quite know where you were going with that...

A call to VooDoo is next on my list.

Well this is what I got from Casey at VooDoo.

"Chet - Unopened they should be good for a few years. I have a larger jar that I work from thats been opened & reopened for at least 2 years now. They key is to take out what you need and close tightly right after. The longer it gets exposed to air (moisture) that faster it dries/lumps up. Hope this helps....Thanks/Casey"
