Mineral Spirits Alternative

Postby Gilbert Mallari » Thu May 05, 2016 4:14 pm

As this being my first post, I wanted to share some information that I learned about Mineral Spirits in California. Being new to rod building most of my handles were usually done using cork tape, X-Flock, or butt cord for the salty sticks I've built. When Winn Grips came out with their new 2016 line of grips I decided to give it a try.
When going to the local Home Depot or Lowes to buy mineral spirits I found out that it was banned for a few years and was looking for alternatives, Winn suggested I go to the local golfsmith and try "clubmaker professional grip solvent" and the double sided tape. This stuff works great and I was able to slide on my new Winn Grips with ease and no issues.

Heres a link to what I bought in case you run into the same issues I did. :D
